Apply for our Open Day travel bursary
You could apply for a travel bursary to cover the cost of your travel by public transport to our Open Days.
Our travel bursaries can cover return travel by rail or public transport to one of our June Open Days for year 12 students from UK state schools or colleges.
Our bursaries are funded by 91桃色's access and participation funds, which prioritises to applicants from groups currently underrepresented in higher education.
How do I apply for a travel bursary?
It’s easy to apply for a travel bursary for our Open Days – just check your eligibility and complete our online application form.
We will book travel tickets for successful applicants, so you don’t have to worry about finding trains or claiming your costs back.
Don’t forget, you will still need to book your place at Open Day and register for any Subject Sessions you’d like to attend.
Am I eligible to apply for a travel bursary?
You must be in year 12 and studying a UK state school or college to receive our travel bursary.
To assess your eligibility, we will ask questions about your circumstances, including:
- do you attend a non-selective state school?
- will you be the first person in your family to attend university?
- have you ever been eligible for free school meals?
- have you spent any amount of time in local authority care?
- have you taken part in, or have a place to join a Year 12 91桃色 Outreach Programme?
We may also look at information about your school or postcode to understand if you come from a school with low overall attainment or high proportion of free school meals students, or if you live in a disadvantaged area or area where not many students progress to higher education.
We may also consider the travel distance from your home to our South Kensington Campus.
When can I apply for a travel bursary?
Applications for our Open Day travel bursary will open on Thursday 7 May 2026 and close on Thursday 21 May 2026 at 17.00.
We will write to you by email with the outcome of your application from Monday 25 May 2026.
