Open Day booking FAQs

Do I need to book to attend Open Day?

We recommend booking in advance for Open Days. This means you can receive our emails with information about travel advice, what to expect on the day and how to check in before the event.

Spaces at Subject Sessions are limited, so must be booked in advance. Unfortunately, guests cannot join you at Subject Sessions.

Can I bring guests to Open Day?

Yes! You’re welcome to bring up to five guests to join you at Open Day. Due to space limitations, guests can’t join you at Subject Sessions, but they can accompany you to other events at Open Day.

Will I get a confirmation of my booking?

When you book your place, we’ll send you a confirmation email. This will include a unique link to your booking, including details of any Subject Sessions you’ve registered for.

Check your email address carefully before completing your booking to make sure you get your confirmation email.

Sometimes confirmation emails can end up in spam folders. If you don’t receive your email, contact us at opendays@imperial.ac.uk and we can check your details.

We’ll send updates before Open Day with more information about travel advice, what to expect on the day and how to check in. We’ll scan the QR code in your confirmation email to check you in to Open Day – you can show this on your phone or bring a printed copy.

I can't attend your June Open Days. Are there more events I can join?

Yes! You can join our Virtual Open Days in July and our next Open Day at the South Kensington Campus in September.

Our next Virtual Open Days will run from 13 to 23 July 2026. Bookings open soon.

Our next Open Day at our South Kensington Campus will be on Saturday 12 September 2026. Bookings open around seven weeks before the event. Join our mailing list to hear first when bookings open.

The Subject Sessions I want to attend are fully booked, what should I do?

We recommend you still book a place and attend our Open Day. You can talk to students and staff from our departments at our Subject and Student Life Fairs and Department Drop-Ins, so there are plenty of opportunities to learn more about the subject you’re interested in beyond the Subject Sessions. You can see what’s on offer on our making the most of the day pages.

We don’t have a waiting list for Subject Sessions, but we will release places if there are cancellations. Keep an eye on our schedule to check if places become available for sessions you're interested in.

Occasionally, places can be available for Subject Sessions on Open Day, however due to limited capacity, we can’t guarantee a seat without a booking.

Is there a difference between the two June Open Days?

No. Both days have a very similar programme, with activities running throughout the day. You only need to attend one of the days, and you can choose the day you prefer when you book your place.

Remember, because our Subject Sessions are very popular, you may not be able to transfer Subject Sessions you’ve registered for if you change the day you attend.

Can I edit my booking?

Yes. If you need to make any changes to your booking, click the link in your confirmation email to access the booking system.

If you have any problems or need any help, email us at opendays@imperial.ac.uk
