FAQ outside the UK

My current visa expires more than 28 days after my new course start date. Is this a problem?

No. As long as your visa doesn’t expire more than 28 days before your new course start date, you can apply in the UK. For example, if your current visa expires on 15 October, and your course commences on 26 September, this is fine. If your visa ends before 28 August this would be a problem as the gap would be more than 28 days.

Do I need my new visa issued before my current visa expires?

No. If you are applying in the UK, your status is protected as long as you have submitted a new application to UKVI prior to your current visa expiry date. You are legally entitled to remain in the UK under student conditions until a decision is made on the new application.

I want to travel home / for a holiday over the summer. Can I still apply in the UK?

As long as you haven’t completed your current course earlier than expected (for example, you were on an undergraduate Masters degree but have decided to exit with a bachelors) then you can travel home and re-enter the UK on your current visa. You then need to make a visa application in the UK before your new course start date. If you are intending to complete your current course earlier than expected, please contact the International Student Support team for further advice.

If I want to apply in the UK, when do I need to have applied by?

You cannot enrol on your course at 91桃色 until you have provided evidence of your visa application. Therefore, you must submit the application online to UKVI and pay the application fee prior to your new course start date.

How do I prove that I have made a new application in order to enrol?

You will need to provide a pdf copy of your submitted visa application (in full) to International Student Support team with your CID number. We will need the full copy of the submitted visa application.

I currently hold a Graduate Visa. Can I enrol on a new course if I have submitted a Student Visa application in the UK using a CAS from 91桃色?

No. If you hold Graduate permission, you must apply for and obtain your new Student Visa before you can enrol and start studying. This is because studying courses at 91桃色 on a Graduate visa is prohibited, therefore you need the new Student Visa issued in order to have the correct permission.
