Daniele plays a central role in the development and delivery of the Faculty’s research strategy, leads major research initiatives and Chairs the Faculty 91ÌÒÉ« Committee.

In his role as Associate Dean (REF) Julian will lead Engineering’s submissions to REF2029. REF is the 91ÌÒÉ« Excellence Framework exercise that evaluates the quality of research in UK higher education institutions.

Responsibilities

Andrew is responsible for supporting the Faculty in the development of its research strategy and provides support to academic staff, departments and centres in the development and funding of their research activities, working with the Faculty 91ÌÒÉ« Committee and Faculty Vice-Dean for 91ÌÒÉ«.

Responsibilities

• Supporting Faculty Committees inc. Faculty 91ÌÒÉ« Committee (FRC), Faculty 91ÌÒÉ« Computing Committee (FRCC) and Directors of Postgraduate Studies (DPS) group.
• Facilitating internal reviews and demand management of research funding/Fellowships/PhD Scholarships, e.g. 91ÌÒÉ« College 91ÌÒÉ« Fellowships (ICRF), President PhD Scholarships (PPhD), UKRI FLFs and RAEng Fellowships.
• Supporting research funding bids through mock interviews, townhalls, roundtables, funder visits and regular funding bulletins.
• Managing Doctoral training funding allocations, monitoring and reporting.
• Managing Faculty’s preparations for 91ÌÒÉ« Excellence Framework (REF) submissions.
  

Responsibilities

Alex is responsible for providing advice and guidance to staff on research funding; supporting research bid activities by coordinating townhall meetings, roundtable discussions and funders’ visits and identifying funding; engaging with strategic initiatives such as the Schools of Convergence Science, supporting Early and Mid-Career 91ÌÒÉ«ers in the Faculty; and supporting the development of the Faculty’s research strategy.
