Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • have submitted a complete application to the MSc Hydrology and Water Resources Management programme for October 2026 entry

  • be able to demonstrate effective advocacy and a commitment to fostering understanding, including supporting the representation and contribution of Muslim communities in wider society, challenging prejudice, and promoting greater inclusion

  • be able to demonstrate community service and social development, including raising aspirations within British Muslim communities

  • be Zakat eligible, in financial need, and unable to cover the cost of tuition fees

  • have an excellent understanding of their chosen industry and how to progress within it, with relevant prior experience and/or achievements in the field

  • have knowledge of how the course will enable them to generate social impact

  • submit a statement of no more than 1,000 words setting out how they meet the criteria above, including how they hope to use the scholarship for their future work

Please note: This scholarship is available to new entrants only. Students already studying the course are not eligible.

Course specific information

This scholarship is available for students applying to the MSc Hydrology and Water Resources Management programme for October 2026 entry.

Application process

Applicants must have an offer or have submitted a complete application to the MSc Hydrology and Water Resources Management programme.

Applicants must also submit a statement of no more than 1,000 words setting out how they meet the scholarship criteria and how they hope to use the scholarship for their future work.

Additional information

The successful student will have the commitment and intelligence to support and represent Muslim communities in wider society, as well as the credibility to bring and explain new learning experiences back to the community. In doing so, they will help create mutual understanding between Muslims and others and contribute to the creation of a more cohesive society.
