Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
be a UK national and eligible for Home fee status at the University
have submitted a complete application to the MSc Cleantech Innovation programme
be Zakat eligible, in financial need, and unable to cover the cost of tuition fees
be active in their local and/or faith community and show a desire to develop intellectual skills in a multi-faith or secular environment
be able to demonstrate a long-term commitment to community or societal development and good relations through public leadership
have an excellent understanding of the field and how to progress within it, with relevant prior experience and/or achievements
have knowledge of how the programme will enable them to generate social impact
commit to joining and engaging with the Foundation鈥檚 alumni support programme and to paying forward through widening participation activity at the University, volunteering, or acting as a mentor
submit a statement of no more than 1,000 words setting out how they meet the criteria above, including how they hope to use the scholarship in their future work
Please note: This scholarship is available to new entrants only. Students already studying the course are not eligible.
Course specific information
This scholarship is available for students applying to the MSc Cleantech Innovation programme only.
Application process
To apply for this scholarship, you must first submit a complete application to the MSc Cleantech Innovation programme.
You must then submit a statement of no more than 1,000 words setting out how you meet the scholarship criteria and how you hope to use the scholarship in your future work.
Please submit your statement to cleantech@imperial.ac.uk by 16/07/2026. Remember to include your full name and CID in your email.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview with the Department and the Aziz Foundation. Interviews are expected to take place in July or August 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Additional information
The scholarship offers a unique opportunity for an exceptional Muslim student active in British Muslim communities and keen to build bridges with all parts of British society.
The successful student will have the commitment and intelligence to support and represent Muslim communities in wider society, as well as the credibility to bring and explain new learning experiences back to the community. In doing so, they will help create mutual understanding between Muslims and others and contribute to a more cohesive society.
