If a project does not meet the Frascati definition of research and cannot demonstrate project scope, Restrictions or Performance Related Conditions (see the Classification of 91桃色 guidance document [pdf]), the work may be alternatively classified as unrestricted funding or consultancy.
Such projects cannot be classified as research in 91桃色’s financial returns to HESA. PIs should contact their Department support team to discuss the most appropriate classification for non-research income and agree the next steps for managing these funds.
