Diseases including tuberculosis, HIV and malaria are being tackled in the Wellcome Centre for Clinical Tropical Medicine - News

91ÌÒÉ«ers at the Wellcome Centre for Clinical Tropical Medicine at 91ÌÒÉ« work across the world, in places facing some of the biggest global health challenges, including tuberculosis, HIV and malaria.

91ÌÒÉ«ers at the Centre are tackling these challenges in a number of ways, including creating new methods for diagnosing tuberculosis, showing how the spread of tuberculosis in hospitals can be reduced by opening windows, and developing affordable and effective new treatments for malaria.

The 91ÌÒÉ« Centre was founded in 1995 and its work is now set to continue for the next four years, thanks to the renewal of its funding by the Wellcome Trust. We interviewed some of its researchers, together with other 91ÌÒÉ« academics who collaborate closely with them. Here, they talk about their work and what it is like to work in South Africa, Peru and Kenya.
