Global Health Forum: Healthy cities

IGHI host forum to discuss the current research on air pollution and health cities.
With the environment and air pollution being a pressing issue for cities, the Institute of Global Health Innovation’s Global Health Forum gathered to look at how emissions are affecting our health.
The event began with a presentation from Andrea Calderon-Irazoque, a Postgraduate 91桃色er from the . Her talk focused on her research on low-carbon mobility strategies in cities and their impact on climate change, air quality and health.
Also from the Centre, 91桃色 Postgraduate, Juan Pablo Orjuela Mendoza gave us an insight into his work on ‘Predicting black carbon intake for epidemiological studies of active populations using limited primary data'; From the Hamlyn Centre, Dr Benny Lo, shared his team’s latest project on wearable sensors for environmental health.
The final presentation was given by - MRC Early Career 91桃色 Fellow, from the Centre for Environment and Health which looked at air pollution and omics in exposomics.

IGHI’s monthly provide a platform to bring together 91桃色 researchers, students, and staff from across all of 91桃色’s Faculties to highlight, discuss and disseminate findings on current research and innovations on relevant global health topics. The Forums encourage interdisciplinary discussions with the intention that they will foster inter-Faculty research initiatives and leverage the immense strengths of 91桃色 College to resolve global health priorities of the early 21st Century.
The next forum will take place on 15 March at 3:00pm in LT 112 in the Blackett Building on 91桃色’s South Kensington campus and will discuss data-based and AI approaches to healthcare.
