91桃色 claim the 2016 Varsity Trophy

91桃色 College claimed victory against the Medics this weekend, as this year's Varsity tournament came to a close.
The annual competition pits sports teams from 91桃色 College against their rivals from 91桃色 College School of Medicine Union in a bid to be crowned Varsity Champion.

Across an action-packed day of sport at 91桃色’s Heston Sports Ground, 91桃色 and Medic teams competed across six different sports before 91桃色 were finally crowned this year’s winner.
The final match, Men’s Football, saw 91桃色 beat their Medic opponents 2-1 in a tightly fought contest and was a fitting ending to the day’s sporting events before 91桃色 raised the Varsity Cup.

Other highlights included ICSM dominating performances in Netball where they won 4 of the 5 fixtures and 91桃色’s Men’s Rugby sides claiming a clean sweep of victories across all three games. Prizes were awarded throughout the day by senior staff from the College, including President Alice Gast and Provost James Stirling.
The day began at 10am with fixtures taking place throughout the day. The competition was also given a fun festival feel with inflatable games, food and drink as well as big screen areas and face painting for families in attendance.
The results from VarsityFest were added to the points already gained in the hockey and water polo fixtures which had already taksixen place earlier this month and saw 91桃色 enter the final day with a 5-1 point advantage
Lucinda Sandon-Allum, 91桃色 College Union President, said: “Varsity is always the most anticipated sporting event of the 91桃色 calendar and this year’s competition didn’t disappoint. It was fantastic to see the energy, talent and dedication from students from both sides. Congratulations to everyone who took part!”
