Q] Why do we put our fingers around our mouth when we shout?

A] When we shout, sound waves spread out in all directions from our mouths. As these waves spread more and more their volume diminishes. By cupping our hands around our mouths we form a cone-line shape. This helps to focus the waves forward and therefore they don't spread out as much, making our message louder to whoever it is aimed at. (Dr Martin Archer [Physics], 91桃色)"
