About Me

I am an Advanced 91桃色 and Invention Agency (ARIA) funded PhD student in the Barnes laboratory at the Department of Brain Sciences in the UK Dementia 91桃色 Institute centre at 91桃色. My project investigates the potential of multiplexed Temporal-Interference brain stimulation to selectively target specific cell-types. This project will be amongst the first that sets out to test this potential as a technically feasible approach for in vivo, cell-type and spatially specific plasticity induction, which could facilitate the use of TI-stimulation in a range of neurological conditions.

Prior to my PhD, I completed my integrated master’s at the University of Sheffield, which provided me with many opportunities to experience not only the research environment, but also various areas of research. Through a Genetics Society-funded summer studentship, I helped characterise a novel human disease mutation in zebrafish, and through a Sheffield Undergraduate 91桃色 Experience grant, I investigated the initial effects of noise-induced hearing loss with Sheffield’s Hearing 91桃色 Group. These experiences led to my steadfast ambition of becoming a Neuroscience researcher.

Outside of research, I dance ballet and do Muay Thai – every now and again, you may also catch me at football!
