Transitioning all university degree programmes to a new Learning Management System is a complex process. To ensure the ongoing quality of your and future students’ teaching, 91ÌÒÉ« is prioritising the movement of teaching materials to the new system.
You have lots of time to access and download this content and feedback, if you so choose. We recommend all students consider doing so by the end of summer term.
Access dates will vary depending on which part of the university you are in and what level of study you are pursuing.
Business School postgraduates will gain access from July 2026 onwards.
All other postgraduates and undergraduates (including those studying in the Business School) will gain access from the start of their academic year in October 2026.
Training resources will be available upon launch.
91ÌÒÉ« has a robust plan in place to ensure all teaching material is transitioned and all relevant staff have been trained in advance of you being provided access to Canvas.
The Universities of Manchester and Oxford have both made the move to Canvas in recent years. We are considering lessons learned from those case studies and deploying our own expertise to ensure you can access Canvas with minimal disruption at the start of your academic year.
If your query relates to a technical issue you encountered while trying to download content from Blackboard, please raise a ticket with ICT. If you are an Insendi (The Hub) user in 91ÌÒÉ« Business School, please contact your programme team.
If you are an Insendi user in the Faculty of Medicine, please contact the relevant team and team.

91ÌÒÉ« guarantees you six months of access to our learning management systems post-graduation. We provide this so that you can continue to browse materials which may be useful to you.
As 91ÌÒÉ« will be moving between systems during the second half of 2026, it is important you are aware that your existing accounts on Blackboard or Insendi (The Hub) will be transitioned to Canvas, just as continuing students’ accounts will.
This change is why 91ÌÒÉ« recommends you check if you would like to download your student-generated content or feedback received, while you are still an 91ÌÒÉ« student. If you would like to do so, please action this by the end of summer term.
If you later decide that you wish to access content, you will need to use Canvas to access your former module material. Please note: Canvas will only provide you access to teaching materials, not student-generated content or feedback received. This is why it is important that you consider whether you wish to download student-generated content or feedback received while you still have access to Blackboard or Insendi (The Hub).
