You may have seen recent media reports about a cyber incident affecting Canvas. Please be assured that ICT colleagues are engaging with Canvas (Instructure) and working to understand the impact to 91桃色. We are working closely with the Data Protection Office, and measures are actively being put in place to mitigate risks associated to the issue.

91桃色 colleagues and students who have been directly impacted have been contacted.

We’d like to reassure the community that 91桃色 usernames and passwords were not affected by the incident and there is no indication that university systems have been compromised. The incidents impacting Canvas are understood to have impacted many Instructure customers worldwide and are not specific to 91桃色.

Instructure reached an agreement with the unauthorised actor involved in the incident. As part of that agreement the data was returned to Instructure with digital confirmation of data destruction. Further information and latest updates are available on

Canvas and next steps

“Following the recent security incident that has affected Canvas worldwide, there have been understandable questions about whether we should continue with the move to Canvas as our new learning management system. I would like to reassure you that this incident does not change our plans, and we continue to have confidence in the platform.

I recognise that news like this can be concerning, and I want to assure you that it is being taken seriously. The incident is being carefully monitored in collaboration with Canvas (Instructure), alongside our ICT teams and the Data Protection Office. Although the security breach was not local, we are also using this as an opportunity to strengthen our approach to security and ensure we are providing clear guidance and support to our community.

Our focus remains on delivering a secure, reliable digital learning experience, and the transition to Canvas will continue as planned.”
